The French hospitality company on Thursday said it has reached an agreement with the local villagers in the the bay of Kakome, who claimed ownership of the land, to become stakeholder in the project.
The holiday company plans to build a luxury 350 villa complex at the pristine bay, 220 kilometers south-west of the capital Tirana.
The resort will be built by the Albania construction company Riviera and operated by Club Med. The cost of the project is valued at roughly EURO75 million.
The villas will span in an area of 700,000 square meters, and will have a capacity of 700 beds. The resort will be operative for six months every year and will include swimming pools, sports grounds, shops and a movie theater.
